SUMMARY:Deaf Community Accountability Survey: Your feedback is needed!
DESCRIPTION:Deaf Community Accountability Survey: We need your feedback please! Advocacy Services for Abused Deaf Victims (ASADV) recently developed a Deaf Community Accountability Model which provides examples of how the Deaf community\, allies\, and service providers can work together to support survivors of domestic violence and hold abusers accountable. We need your feedback please! Your feedback will help us improve/refine the model. Please read our Community Letter and take our Survey by Friday\, June 1\, 2012: http://asadv.org/events-3/upcoming-events/ Your feedback and reactions relating to diversity would be appreciated as well (i.e.: should we keep the images clear and void of color or add color/depict diversity?). The more details/responses you share with us\, the better! Thank you for your time and support! :) Aimee K. Whyte Director of Community Education & Counseling Advocacy Services for Abused Deaf Victims (ASADV) Aimee.Whyte@asadv.org

The fact that they are working closely in the same school did not help matters. For all their bad blood with each other\, something bad had happened to them: their bodies have been switched! What follows is a series of laugh-a-minute hijinks as Jackie and Seth struggle to get back to their bodies. Because of that\, they have no choice but to work together in order to save themselves. With time running out\, Jackie and Seth must find a way to get back in their bodies before they get stuck in the opposite sex of bodies forever! Versa Effect is the first comedy film directed by the venerable Mark Wood

SUMMARY:California Lions Wilderness Camp for Deaf Children, Inc.
DESCRIPTION:Summer is approaching! California Lions Wilderness Camp for Deaf Children\, Inc. offers a week-long overnight camp at no cost for all Deaf and hard-of-hearing children. Register your child now! The mission of Lions Camp is to provide “a camp experience sponsored by the Lions Clubs of California where Deaf children\, ages 7 to 15\, can learn outdoor skills and enjoy the wonder and beauty of nature to the fullest extent.” Furthermore\, Lions Camp is a place for your child to continue developing social skills\, explore personal growth\, and build a strong sense of self within the Deaf community. Lions Camp also provides a leadership program\, Counselor-In-Training (CIT)\, for teenagers\, ages 16 and 17 years old. CITs must apply online and are selected based on several criteria. Lions Camp holds true to the standard of social inclusion for all staff\, volunteers\, and campers. All Deaf and hard-of-hearing children are welcome regardless of their modes of communication. Many of our staff members are Deaf. Therefore\, the camp is primarily conducted in sign language. An understanding of basic sign language and/or the ability to adapt to a different language environment is conducive to a camper’s enjoyment. Some hard-of-hearing and hearing staff will be working at the camp. Interpreters will also be available throughout the week at selected activities. While this camp is free of charge for all Deaf and hard-of-hearing children\, there is a $30.00 non-refundable fee to hold your child’s place at camp. If you send in your application AFTER the registration deadline\, there is a $100.00 late fee. If the camp is at full capacity when we receive your application\, you will be notified and your child will be placed on the waiting list. North Camp-Ross Relles Deadline: July 3rd\, 2011 Hearing siblings may attend Lions Camp. However\, parents must pay a fee of $400.00 for a hearing sibling to attend camp since our primary objective is to provide Deaf and hard-of-hearing children with a free camp experience. If the fee has been paid BEFORE the deadline and space is available\, hearing siblings will be accepted. Applications and camp information are available on our website <www.lionswildcamp.org>. If you are unable to apply online\, please send us a letter requesting a paper application. If you have additional questions or concerns\, email the Camp Program Director <rjmix8@gmail.com> or the camp <campinfo@lionswildcamp.org>.
